Summary: Alpha Stage Two

Stage II was to deal with the topic of Communication. It began smoothly, and finished just as smooth, only a couple of minor bugs bothered us this time. One of the most interesting, and excellent, additions to the client, towards the end, was the languages. With random skill levels the testers (including the new batch who managed to arrive just before the release of the languages) attempted to communicate all manner of things, ranging from master in Elven to awful in Troll [ screenshot ].

This stage also saw an extensive list of adverbs and socials to communicate with. As well as communication, this stage added several animated emotes, e.g. the kneeling stance [ screenshot ]. Finally, we got the addition of a logging feature (similar to mIRC), which could prove useful for remembering occasions.

This has been a very interesting stage, and I await the next one with giddy impatience.

The second stage of alpha saw the introduction of new members to the alpha 'team' as well as more functionality and rapid progress. Updates to the client as well as revisions and bugfixes occurred on a daily basis.

Communication was planned to be a shorter stage, with more methods of communication being revisited later on. However, there was no lack of progress as many new functions and features were added. For example, we were able to communicate using different tongues [ screenshot ], and further enhance communication through different socials. New animated emotes were also added such as 'kneeling' [ screenshot ].

Overall, though planned to be a shorter stage, there was no lack of progress.
