Alpha Stage III : Summary
As most are aware, Alpha testing has now entered it's fourth stage concentrating on equipment. This summary report hopefully provides some insight and reflections upon the last stage.
Stage three focusing on inventory has been the longest stage thus far. The lengthened time span also saw much more progress and improvements than the previous stages. For example, the advent of a new dedicated server brought with it improved performance. A lingering bug within the client which caused delayed movement was finally terminated. Shailejron said it best, "Hurray!". There also a couple of other bugs which were found and resolved. New functionality was also added, most notably the ability to click and drag items as well as commands (e.g. toggles, languages).
The 'item descriptions team' has also moved from Phase I focusing on crafted items, to Phase II concentrating on starting equipment. Each race and class will receive a sense of uniqueness to them as they start out with their own set of equipment. You'll definitely have a chance to read these descriptions in the future!
Hence, Stage three was riddled with excitement (well, more so than usual) and progress was made on many fronts.
